Atlanta Dining Trends
I fucking swear, "farm-to-table" is the new tapas. Our city is being overrun with dozens of new restaurants boasting of "farm-to-table" fare while at the same time contributing to the very degradation of the term. The meaning of "farm-to-table" has become increasingly vague these days, and it's just like these greedy restaurant developers to capitalize on whatever trend is hot at the moment. This is why Atlanta now has over 50 tapas restaurants, yet only 3 or 4 of them are authentic and worth anybody's while. So wise up, people. When you go to tepid eateries like The Shed and Food 101, don't expect to get the same caliber of food that you would get at Woodfire Grill or Floataway Cafe, the latter of which is owned by two chefs who actually run their own farm north of Cartersville. The state of Atlanta dining annoys the shit out of me most days, which is why I'm so grateful for Buford Highway.
