My Favorite Cocktail

You cannot do better than a caipirinha on a warm, radiant afternoon. Enough said.

Traditional Caipirinha:

Half of a lime
2 tsp. granulated sugar
Crushed ice
2 oz. Cachaça (distilled sugarcane liquor from Brazil)
Old-fashioned glass

Cut the half of the lime into quarters and put into an old-fashioned glass. Add the sugar and muddle it together with the lime for 30 seconds until the sugar is dissolved in the extracted lime juice (I suggest using an actual muddler, available at most liquor stores). Fill glass with ice, add the cachaça and stir everything together.

¡Saúde!
